Diamonds on my Birch Tree
2

I didn't have to travel very far for this shot. I noticed how my dining room was suddenly flooded with light and walked out onto the balcony to see what it was.

Imagine this: It rains hard then just stops, the clouds are still quite dark and the trees all still very wet. Then the sun comes out briefly and all those rain droplets in the branches light up like bright diamonds, while the forest in the distance starts to eminate a cloud of rising mist as it all evaporates.

Difficult to photograph to do it justice, but here's a go,...
If I had focussed on the drops those tiny specular reflections are indeed very bright but so small that they hardly show up on the photo. By putting them OOF each individual drop becomes much bigger and brighter and is well noticable on the image; with F8 they are not too large. So it was Bokeh to the rescue in this case!

C&C welcome
