Camera buyers in Canada: UPS being sued in Canada over brokerage fees
You know the fees, if you go UPS or Fedex Ground, they tack on a fee, based on item value to "broker" it across the border. $20, $30, $60. What the fee does is push the total cost of shipping near the higher level UPS/Fedex shipping products so in addition to nearly paying as much, you get the slower service. Higher-level products like Express don't carry any brokerage fees. They've been sued over his before. Problem with UPS is they hit the end customer with the fees, so the end customer thinks they're being ripped-off after having agreed to a set shipping rate already.
