Poster type printing

I am fairly familiar with inkjet printing on coated papers and sell some of my A3+ prints from my Epson SC-P600.

What I would like to know is, what is the process for printing lower quality but more durable commercially produced poster type prints? A more cost effective option that a customer might pin on their wall rather than going to the expense of framing it.

Do they use a different process to inkjet, are the papers uncoated etc? As an example, what process does someone like Blurb (who I have used) use for their book printing? Is it effectively inkjet onto plain or coated paper, or a different process? [I am familiar with RGB/CMYK colour spaces].

[I am only interested in digital processes].

Thanks in advance.
