i think part of the problem is I read the reviews, want everything and then cant focus (no pun intended lol) on what the best bet is for me #allthegearnoidea .. I think I was attracted to the 16mm for the wide aperture and bokeh, but suspect the shots I’d really want with this would be best suited to the 56.

Good luck with th 12. I use mine a lot. I’d encourage you to use the high mag, and to try it without peaking. That usually works better for me.

I have the 60/2.4 and use it much more than the 56. It is small, inexpensive and gives you higher magnification when you need it. It’s not as fast or capable of as shallow DOF, of course, but it renders beautifully and works well for most cases in place of the 56. I have read that the 50/2 is another good alternative.
