Please show and/or explain to me what would be acceptable to you? Again, I'm an amateur and, for me and many others who actually matter to me, think the images are pretty good.

Your comment just comes off as very snobbish and extremely rude, but what do I know.

I thought they were good, and to 1Dx4me's initial point/request they illustrated the lenses ability (or lack of depending on your view) of shooting smaller wildlife.  So I believe they did answer the question adequately

One thing that seems to be all over the place is opinion on image quality with the 1.4 extender.  That seemingly would push the 300 lens into the minimum focal length for birding.  Not sure if that's worth taking into consideration.
