One trick I've used for years it to make sure that the cam is held lens mount down or, if using sensor shake with lens attached, lens down. That way a minimum of dust finds its way back onto the sensor, and some at least may fall right out of the innards. If you do have a lens attached, the rear element is comparatively easy to clean.

Normal humidity is also a help. V. dry conditions are asking for trouble with static.
