Vegas at the end of April.... What parts of the M system would you bring?
Mar 8, 2019
I am heading to Las Vegas at the end of April - early May. I am there for a conference but will have some free time to walk around shoot some. I am staying somewhere near the Venetian but travel arrangements are out of my control and I am sure I will be off strip in a fleabag. What I want to do is walk the strip and shoot the sites.
I have the following M system: M5, M3, M bodies. 270EXII flash, 22mm, 28mm, 18-55mm, 11-22mm and the 18-150mm. I will be purchasing the 32mm before this trip. I will also be bringing my Canon G9X to walk around the conference with.
I don't want to check any bags so I need to travel real light. Given that I am thinking of bringing the M5 with the 18-150, 32 and 11-22.
I'll bring the flash but it is so lit there I might not need it.
The main question I have is will I need the 11-22 for just walking around? I think it will be essential down on Freemont street and the downtown area???
I have never walked the strip as Vegas is more of an indoor town. Looking at google maps it might not be the best walk but who knows. I know I'll shoot downtown one night and that will be great.
Any recommendations for areas to shoot in Vegas. I am not much of a gambler. I'll hit the tables one night for a couple hours and that is all I need. So I will have some free nights to shoot. The days will be booked with work related stuff but I might get a free afternoon to explore.
I am thinking the second body is not really needed as I could use the Gx9 if I had a problem with the M5. But if there is room the M3 and M5 share batteries so I'll slip it in.
Thanks for reading and look forward to your thoughts....
