Yes, I'm still using mine. See these pictures that I took with the Canon T2i (550D), Canon T3i (600D) and Canon T7i (800D) cameras. The Canon T3i (600D) pictures are at the end of the series (that I used with the Tamron 150-600mm lens).

I'll probably upgrade the Canon T3i (600D) this year only because it will give me some improvements. But it still performs like a champ!

In poor lighting conditions like I had yesterday (just before it rained) the Canon T7i (800D) camera is the one that I would want to use. There's some distinct advantages especially with people events that I like. But for most of the time, the Canon T3i (600D) camera will be fine.

Thanks. Great pics.

The 600D is gone but there is a SL1/100D with 18-55 kit lens for 379 euros and 1 year warranty.

Is it a good alternative? It's also smaller. Only doubt is iso performance. I could shoot in churches etc. on my trip; would it be good?

I would highly recommend getting a camera with the newer 24 MP Dual Pixel sensor if at all possible.  It will be an improvement over the older 18 MP sensor in all respects.  Bottom line is that you would gain a full stop in ISO noise characteristics, but everything else would be an improvement as well.

The newer SL2 would give you the best bang for the buck in this category.

However if you want to go even more compact, check out one of Canon's dual-pixel 24 MP mirrorless M-Series models for the substantially smaller footprint...

SL1 vs M50 size comparison (with kit lenses).  All of Canon's current EF and EF-S lenses can be mounted on any of the M-Series bodies with adapter.

Happy shopping!
