I wish they would create computer monitors that can playback movies in 3D.

They did, but they are gone now. I purchased this monitor back in 2013...

I use it for aligning and viewing my 3D photos. It does not require any sort of a special graphics card, so I can use it connected to my Macbook Pro. A number of manufacturers made passive 3D monitors around that time. The thing to do would be to research the specific models you are interested in and then watch eBay for the specific model. There is a good chance that some 3D monitors will be sold without any mention of the fact that they are 3D. Same goes for 3D laptops as well.

Thanks for the suggestion Bill.

It's a pity that the 3D monitors are no longer sold

I remember buying a graphics card back in the 1990's that came with a pair of glasses that you connect to the graphics board. This causes only one eye to see at a time rapidly alternating between the eyes.

The graphic board is now is of date, but it seemed to work well.

I have a feeling that Sony might develop something soon that's at a reasonable price.

I do find it unusual that they are still selling 3D movies on blu-ray discs as there are no 3D TV's sold, maybe there was a lot of 3D TV's sold at the time making enough  demand for 3D movies.
