Fuji equals smaller than ff sensor with equal to ff size lenses. Not interested. I think M43 and FF together is a much better option.

That's what I used to think as well but in order for MFT to compete with even APS-C let alone FF, the bodies and lenses have to be fast, which means big and expensive and then the bodies have to grow to accommodate the glass.

APS-C can be quite compact. Take a Canon SL2 for example (great camera) with the kit lens which is actually quite sharp albeit slow but with a cleaner sensor, you can get away with a slower lens.

Right now, an SL2 with 18-55mm zoom lens is available new for $599USD. You can get a Nikon D3500 for less than $400 and I can assure you, the image quality difference is significant, for much less money and almost no penalty in weigh/bulk.

Quite simply, apart from a better IBIS system, there are no clear advantages to the MFT format anymore.

Unfortunately, much of what you say is true.   For me, the way forward for u4/3 is to play to its' strengths which is small size and weight... mainly, I would imagine, for the travel / convenience market ... that is why I have my system.

They should take the best sensor they can muster,  and build a superior PEN F / E-P5 and produce better and smaller lenses, perhaps around the f2 mark.   Keep the cost "sensible".  Promote themselves as the photo travel companion with quality that you can afford and carry !.

Once they enter the big, fancy, fast and expensive market ... they lose.   In that arena they will never overcome the size of sensor compared to other makers ... that is why I keep my Nikons ... superior in just about every way except for size and weight !
