I agree lenses are not the reason but...

they can push you over a bit.

What I mean is, the now 4 small Fuji primes are a match for the small primes in m43rds keeping a body like an X-e3 or XT-30 totally comparable in size to the m43rds peers and beyond. And those little lenses are also on top of that weather sealed, which the m43rds are not.

I shouldn't say they are the reason, but it makes someone doing the comparison shopping that could be on the fence, tilt toward Fuji in those focal ranges and looking for a small body.

A situation that m43rds should do their best to avoid. Big bodies isn't the answer here (last line just a thought, not saying you said that).
