why not kill Rebel DSLR with an APS-C RP for $799?

Canon RP size + layout + 480g weight is comparable to any APS-C Rebel DSLR.  RP is also "cripple" enough for the masses that no enthusiast will want.  For all intended purposes, RP is the new consumer-oriented Rebel, so why not add an

  • an 24mp (APS-C) sensor to create a $799 RF Rebel
  • and make a single RF 18-55 (APS-C) kit lens?
  • use same body as FF RP = no development cost
  • main attraction = RF lens access

No, I will not buy EF-M M5/M6/M50 that has NO ACCESS to RF lens = dead end

No, I rather not buy SL2/T7i DSLR with a limited future

Fullframe is nice but not an absolute necessity.  I ♥ small lightweight camera; I ♥ cheap price; I ♥ Canon RF lens; an even cheaper APS-C version of RP would be of interest for me.  Am I alone?
