Optimum setup multiple M.2 drives (NVMe & SATA)

This will be my first Win10 PC build using M.2 drives.  I'm already in possession of the hardware I will be using.  I have a Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe EVO 500 GB and a Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB M.2 SATA.  My motherboard can accommodate both drives. Additionally I have a older Crucial sata ssd (not M.2) from 2016 that I will be reusing as an additional drive, in addition to multiple hard drives.

I intend to use this setup for raw conversion and editing on DXO Photolab and Capture One, as well as editing and rendering video (HD now, 4K by midyear).   I'm not a gamer.

On researching it seems there isn't a lot of difference in boot times between the SATA and NVMe drives.  I would assume similar behavior occurs when launching and running programs.

So what do you think the fastest ideal configuration is for this hardware? Conventional internet wisdom seems to imply that the fastest drive (970 EVO) should be the Windows system and program drive, but there seems to be wiggle room for debate with my intended use.  Perhaps that drive is best for hosting the media files I intend to render, or use as a scratch drive, or maybe there's another arrangement I haven't yet considered.

Please share your thoughts.
