Oh, you mean Canon's Center for Creative Camera Crippling? 😂

You seem to ignore the reality of the current camera market. It's been crashing for many years now, and cost-cutting is the name of the game, especially for both Canon and Nikon. The latter have cut everything that could be cut, and a couple things that shouldn't be (like QC and customer service); the former have a ways to go, and one of those in the immediate future will be the consolidation of mounts - bye bye EF-S, bye bye EF-M, hello APS-C RF. 35mm EF will still be in production for enthusiasts and pros, but will fall to the wayside gradually over the next 5-8 years.
