How do you cull your images?

I've asked this question recently elsewhere, but thought I'd ask here as well just in case there are any other options I haven't considered.

How do you cull your images before editing or cataloguing? I'm specifically interested in methods that don't involve Capture One or Lightroom (or any other Raw editor).

What do you find is most efficient for you in terms of speed?
