Congrats!!! The GX8 was my favorite camera. The size was just right and everything was in the perfect spot. Weather resistance, range finder form factor, tilting OLED EVF, and one of the last Panasonic cameras to have an AA filter... it was a true gem and a joy to use!

The camera had major flaws that limited my personal workflow though: lack of live HDMI output while recording video, loud shutter made it hard to shoot discretely, lack of in body stabilization in video, to name a few. I ultimately traded it in hopes that they would release a true successor in the future... I'm still waiting.

I thought the GX8 has in body stabilisation and a silent shooting mode?

It does. That's how one catches out the boasters who pretend to have owned far more than they ever did in reality.

I've owned a lot of cameras unfortunately... I'm not really a big fan of showing my gear (even previously owned gear), but I guess I would make this exception?

The GX8 does not have in body stabilization in video as per my post. It does have stabilization for stills though if that's what you're referring to.

And while it does have silent mode for discrete shooting, you still need to use mechanical shutter when shooting events in mixed lighting (to avoid banding) and when shooting very fast moving subjects (to avoid jello). In those cases, the mechanical shutter was mandatory, but simply too loud to be discrete...

It's still a gem and I miss it a lot.
