I'm of the same opinion as you David, when it comes to taking steps to limit card failure. When I had a 5DMKIV (sold it to buy another R), I would do pretty much the same as you, even going further to backup with a Gnarbox and tossing cards that are more than a year old.

BTW, thanks for bringing back memories of the IBM microdrive. Gawd forbid if you dropped one of those things. 😔
