I will chime in as a full-time wedding pro.  I have talked about this with many in my specific genre and I have yet to hear anyone say that they would choose one slot over two.

Yes, I know there can be wi-fi backup, but shooting RAW to 2 bodies in locations where I cannot carry laptops,etc... is just not a viable option when *immediate* backup solutions are so prevalent.

I shoot with a 5D4 and 5D3 and am excited about mirrorless, but *won't even consider* it until they have 2 slots.

I love it when people say that they have never had a card failure, so they don't see the need for an additional slot.  For those people, I guess you don't wear your seat belt since you perhaps have never been a serious car collision.
