Joystick: I believe joystick is impractical for ~5000 focus point. And I'm enjoying touch control focus change option in this camera. It is very responsive and fast. It is similarly like playing the game on iPhone.

The EOS R has 5655 dual pixels (87 x 65) but there are only 143 non-overlapping points, so the actual number of selectable AF points are 143, so a joystick would handle it perfectly fine, just like all other cameras from other cameras. Sony, the pioneer in mirrorless cameras with on sensor phase detection points started without joystick, but today with their 3rd generation realized that joystick is absolutely great for AF point selection when shooting through EVF. Canon has excellent joystick technology in 5DmIV I am pretty sure Canon will bring the joystick over to the next R series cameras. Nikon was smart they "learned the lesson" from Sony and they made their first mirrorless cameras Z6/Z7 with excellent joystick operability.

Using the tough screen is much faster, more precise and more convenient.

I remember when the first laptops with the touch pad came out, people were outraged and demanding the return of that clunky red "joy" stub sticking out of the keyboard. And where is it now?

It takes some time and involvement to get used to new interfaces but you do there is no coming back.

Exactly. Using touch and drag on my M50 is so second nature that when I borrow cameras with a joystick it throws me off for a bit.
