Finding your way in an unknown territory can be a bit challenging when you only have a map to guide you. The first time. And not so much the second time. The following times you know the route and don't need the map as much, any longer. The most difficult task when taking the 85mm apart, is screwing off the ring saying: 'Minolta MC Rokkor 1:1,7 f=85mm Lens made in Japan'. Using a dish washer glove may give the needed friction. (You need to twist hard, without squeezing hard. If you squeeze the ring into an oval shape, it will never come off. This is the reason why a filter seems to be stuck on the lens.)

Take your time when working on the lens. Everybody can see what kind of work you have done. Nobody can see how long time you spent.
