A Quick Thought About N1 Exposure
1

I use a tripod a lot of the time.
This is, in part, because I forget to take a photo I wanted to take earlier until late in the evening when it's already starting to get dark.  I've noticed lately that when taking pictures in 'snow conditions' that all the traditional N1 rules about avoiding bleaching-out highlight tones no longer apply when you're taking a relatively long (half-second or longer) exposure in low-light conditions.  The situation seems to revert to those good old film days when 'metering' on any specific tone would give you a 'neutral gray'.
I'm going to try to forget I noticed this for now, or else the next time I go out in broad daylight I'm going to be completely bleeped.  ( :
