Hm, absolutely not my experience. This lens was was a stellar performer n my APS-C cameras.

If it's wise to invest in an EF-S lens or APS-C Canon SLR with the transition to mirrorless going on, is of course an other question.

you see, ef-s lenses are designed for guys with flat wallets--so we can discuss all we want, ef-s lenses will never be able to compete with canon "L" lenses' performance any investment in ef-s lenses with set you right behind the 8 ball sorry if you disagree with me.

Yet ever time a crop shooter asks about a telephoto and brings up wanting/considering an L lens they're told to just get the EF S 55-250 because it's just as good. Kinda contradicts your statement.

I have both a 70-200mm L and the EF-S 55-250 and have tested/compared them to each other many times. All I can say is that the 55-200 is a fantastic bargain in terms of IQ. It's slower and not in the same league as the L for build quality, but mine has held up well enough and it weighs half as much in return. It must be one of the best deals in the EF-S lineup. If someone thinks they might someday need a ff lens, though, then the choice is obvious.
