Hm, absolutely not my experience. This lens was was a stellar performer n my APS-C cameras.

If it's wise to invest in an EF-S lens or APS-C Canon SLR with the transition to mirrorless going on, is of course an other question.

you see, ef-s lenses are designed for guys with flat wallets--so we can discuss all we want, ef-s lenses will never be able to compete with canon "L" lenses' performance any investment in ef-s lenses with set you right behind the 8 ball sorry if you disagree with me.

Yet ever time a crop shooter asks about a telephoto and brings up wanting/considering an L lens they're told to just get the EF S 55-250 because it's just as good. Kinda contradicts your statement.

Oh, but the EF-S 55-250mm is not as good as an L lens. I have the 55-250mm lens. While it is convenient and lightweight, and it produces good images, I would not say they are stellar images, nothing on par with an L lens.

Oh I know that, but on  more threads than i can count whenever someone asks about an L telephoto lens for a crop camera the most common response is that the 55-250 is just as good as an L lens and that's all you need on your crop camera.  Like its just a complete waste to put L glad on a crop camera.

It's a good lens no doubt but if someone asks about L glass the 55-250 shouldn't even come up.  It's becoming a pet peeve of mine.
