E-P5

Hi all. Just wanted to kick in my 2 cents/pennyworth. I have way to many cameras, but I did see a deal on new/old E-P5 on US Ebay last week. $259US for a new E-P5 body. Couldn't resist and I picked one up.

It arrived yesterday, factory sealed, and I unpacked it this morning to charge it and set it up, so I've no more than half a dozen quick snaps to make sure it's working. I did have to update the firmware from 1.2 to 1.8, so that's how long it's sat around on some dealer's shelf.

They typically arrived even after a few years at V1.0, it depends upon the production run.

I've never held a camera in the E-P series before, but I have to say that I just love the heft and feel of it. It feels very solid in-hand and the control layout feels good too.

I know this is old hat to a lot of you, but I do think this camera will get a lot of use going forward.

Update the firmware, enable zero second anti-shock in the custom menus, and then use it via the diamond mode in the shooting menu. I've never seen shock in either of my two E-P5 by doing that.

I have tried to better explain the menus so between my page and the user manual you may find some help. http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/56-ep5-custom-menus.html

It's a good camera and very likely my last M4/3 camera, it does all that I need.

Regards..... Guy
