I bought a recommended Canon lens hood to replace the infamous Olympus 40-150 Pro lens hood that has fallen tompieces and it is a pretty good fit but it tends to come off.

Do you have any suggestions on how to secure it better to the lens?

Duct tape....

Thanks for the suggestion but that would mean taking the duct tape off and on several time per outing. Don’t really want to do that. And for travelling, I would have to carry duct tape with me.

Scotch tape then; it's lighter. Or, more to the point, a dab of tape or contact cement on one of the surfaces BEFORE you screw the hood back on, just to give the whole thing a bit more friction.

Seriously, sometimes the simplest solutions are the best...
