focal length and depth of field - a dumb Q?

Hi. I like (trying to) shoot macro shots of jumping spiders - they are tiny - maybe 4-5mm long.

I am using Nikon 85mm micro and Nikon D7500 (often with Nikon SB400 flash).

While I have had some success getting sharp images of the faces of these spiders - often at f16 - I wish I could get more depth of field, ie so more of the spider is in focus.

I have been wondering of trying the Nikon 60mm (AF-D or AF-S) or 40mm DX micro might give me similar magnification but with a bit more DOF.

Or is not going to make any appreciable difference?
