Epson P600 vs Pro-100 B&W printing

Looks like the P600 is easier to get neutral B&W for all light conditions. Anyone has experience with both of these printers that can comment?

I decided I will most likely return the Pixma 8720 as good as it is, but I am not seeing the B&W I thought a grey ink and 1 picoliter would do.

Was able to search for comments and what nots on this. Looks like the Pro-100 still has a bit of a color cast depending on Paper while the Epson keeps or is more resilient to being neutral.

Is this color cast due to bad profiles, or is it unavoidable?

Looks like if you profile the printer particularly for a particular light, it does fine. But between having to do that and not having to worry about that, I'll pick the later particularly when it also has longer longevity and the print costs are not too far from each.
