P20 Pro unexpectedly cropping photos

I was testing the P20 Pro with some vitamin bottle shots (product shots) and I am using the 3x optical zoom so the lines of the bottles stay straight. Anyway, when I take the photo I make sure that the entire bottle is in the photo. When I review the photo the top of the bottle is always cut off. It's as if the image is getting cropped after I press the shutter each time.

The phone is approx. 18 inches from the bottle for each shot. I tried moving the phone right up close to about 6 inches from the bottle and it shows a complete shot when I review the image. I took a number of photos just a little bit further away each time and they all showed the proper crop... even at 18 inches. However, when I stop and try taking the shot again at 18 inches it crops again.

What the heck is happening? I am assuming that it has something to do with the processing that the phone is deciding on its own. The AI isn't showing anything on the screen that I can just turn off so it seems to be deciding to crop all on its own. It defeats the purpose of getting a good close shot of the bottle if it's just going to crop. It means I have to move further from the bottle.

Any suggestions?
