Exactly. I can see it because I've shot regularly with both sensors. Real life scenes, real life subjects. Many tens of thousands of shots with each.

However for those who haven't upgraded yet, what one needs to do (if all they have to look at are these samples) is download the RAW test files, open them in their favorite RAW editor, then view them at the same image size. (Not 100% like on the linked website, because these sensors have significantly different resolutions!)

Compare closely.

Then take it to the next step and make adjustments so that image detail is equal... "Geez this SL2 is looking really good, eh?"

Now if a person needs even more convincing, start to apply noise reduction to taste, but maintain that same level of detail. See what I mean?

And the great thing is, is that if you don't need to shoot at a higher ISO, you can use this increased image quality to crop more freely instead! Who wouldn't like that!!!

This has been my experience. But YMMV of course!
