I’ve been filming in 1080p, 60fps, monitor only, manual mode, a lot recently (January 2019) and the monitor has been exhibiting the same exact issues. Yesterday, January 11th, it went nuts with the black screen in and out. Fortunately the black screen didn’t show on footage but because I had it on a gimbal, not connected electronically at all, it was frustrating as hell while capturing.

This has nothing to do with the subject thread. What you see is probably the EVF eye sensor acting and switching between EVF and the LCD. It is very sensitive, so is something comes near it will switch to the EVF, blanking the LCD. If a hair straw or some other tiny thing gets stuck and flickers by the movement it can also switch between EVF and LCD for a brief moment.

To add insult to injury, the white electronic screen zaps that pop up on the lcd now and then, DO show up on the footage.

What do you mean by that? Are you talking about flickering caused by poor quality LED lights or florescent tubes?

Post an example video of the problem you see.

Anyway, this is not about what is discussed in this thread, so start a new thread if you think is necessary and valuable information to others.
