I wanted to add that for my upcoming trip, I will be going on a safari, so the type of photography I would do would be nature/wildlife.

But I also are considering the options mentioned for other travels. The Oly 40-150 always take up so much room (+ weight).

That's exactly why I opted for the P35-100/2.8 instead of the O40-150/2.8. I knew I would be reluctant to carry it on all my trips.

Good to know.

P12-35/2.8, P35-100/2.8, P8-18/2.8-4 and P15/1.7 are my standard travel lenses. PL25/1.4, PL100-400 and Rokinon 7.5 fisheye come along on an as-needed basis.

Where about did you go on your safari? Any pictures I could look at taken with the P35-100?

I haven't been on a safari. I bought the 100-400 for a trip to Costa Rica this March. It's not the ideal lens for under the tree canopy due to its slow aperture but it should work well enough.  I've used it on a trip to Haida Gwaii and it worked very well; its dual IS did a great job shooting from a pitching boat.

Here are some photos from the 35-100. They're from my DP gallery so quality isn't 100%. Most have been cropped to some degree but the whale ones were heavily cropped.  I love the 35-100 for travel.  I literally carry it everywhere, all day.  If I don't use it, it's no big deal since it's so easy to carry.
