So I've had my t5i for about a year, and it's been great. It was used, but still seems to be in good shape.

Hi there and welcome!

It looks super soft and grainy and out of focus. When I bring it into my video editor of choice (Premiere Pro or Resolve), it still looks great in the window, but when I play it full screen, it's the same story.

Have you been able to narrow things down at all?

Maybe the video resolution setting got accidentally changed?

Perhaps tried a different lens or computer? Different software? Direct to TV?

Have you checked the AF switch on the lens? (which lens?)

How about the image stabilizer? On or off? Mounted on a tripod?

Something smeared on the lens? Moisture inside? Mold?

A messed up sensor?

Noise reduction pushed to the max?

Try a (menu) reset to factory defaults.

Has anything changed? I’m guessing that you’ve been using the same techniques before, but with success?

Have you tried (manual) focusing using the magnification feature?

Or autofocus just to see if that’s working OK?

Can you tell if anything is in focus? Or if so, where the focus is ending up?

I think we have to narrow things down a bit.

Best of luck!
