I'm considering the 2 following options:

1) Replacing my Olympus 40-150 f/2.8 Pro with the Panasonic 35-100 f/2.8 mk2 mostly because of size and weight (for travel).
2) Replacing my Olympus 40-150 f/2.8 Pro + my Olympus 12-40 Pro with the Olympus 12-100 f4 for similar reasons i.e. total weight and size. What are your thoughts and suggestions?
I should mention that I have the PL 100-400 for telephoto purposes.

If you are looking for the simplest (yet powerful) package, I would have just the 12-100 and a semi wide f1.7/ 1.8 (15 or 17mm).

100-150mm does not feel to me like enough to warrant an extra lens just for that (if I thought I needed longer, the PL 100-400 would come with).

F2.8 is nice but it means 2 lenses for your commonly used focal lengths and my EM1.2 has good 3200 ISO (RAW processing) and I think G9 as well.

The DUAL IS of the 12-100 and EM1.2 will take back a stop or two of low light / ISO ability over a non stabilised f2.8 lens.... effectively for a low light (ISO) landscape it makes the 12-100 a f2.8 or better lens compared to say a 12-40mm f2.8 lens.

I take an 8mm f1.8 Pro, 8-18mm PL, 17mm f1.2 Pro, 60mm f2.8 Macro, 12-100mm Pro and 100-400 PL when I travel (plus filters, flash TG5 Tough camera and small tripod) and it all complies with strictest carry on airline rules and in a backpack that fits under the seat in front. If I was flying to shoot a wedding, I would add my 25 f1.2 Pro, 12-40mm Pro and more flashes plus a spare EM1 and take out the 100-400 PL and 60mm Macro.

Even though I have 6 lenses in my backpack, the 12-100 deals with almost everything during daylight hours outside and unless I see something absolutely stunning that needs a wider lens, or birds, it stays on the camera.

The 12-100 works for me but I can see some people would rather do a 12-40 2.8 plus 35-100 2.8 as the 12-100 is substantial. Or get a 12-60 PL as a compromise. If you can get to a shop to handle a 12-100, go have feel and look.

Credit to whoever said that first and my wife for saying it to me. Make the best you can of every day!
