Your biggest, stupidest fail
3

This morning I had a massive fail experience, which made me think about asking others what is the most stupid thing that ever happened to them (while doing photography).

Here's mine:

I was at a lake a bit before sunrise waiting for light to be sufficient to start shooting and my presence to be forgotten. After a while I considered the light was enough and started targeting some birds and... Couldn't focus on anything. I started to think I screwed some settings like the distance limiter. Maybe some camera parameters. Maybe there is not as much light as I thought? (although I had a hard time convincing myself of that...). Then finally settled on "my camera or lens must have a problem". I even told myself what the hell I'll focus manually. That lasted for about 30min, then I was fed up and started packing my carefully setup hide in a bush, just to realize my GODAMN cheap rain jacket front rubber band on the hood had snapped in front of the lens. I noticed nothing in the viewfinder at all and it's the first time it happens. Call me stupid, but this is so far by biggest fail. Then I took some photos quickly to forget the shame invading my head, but I was already late for work and the morning shoot was done.

I'm looking forward to hearing yours!
