Most bang for buck? Lens upgrade

My current travel kit consists of my K-3 and three lenses:

  • Pentax DA 18-135mm (walk around day)
  • Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 (walk around evenings/nights)
  • Sigma 30mm f.1.4 (interior, low-light day or night)

Suppose I upgrade one while waiting for the expected K-3 v.next:

Replace 18-135 with Pentax 16-85mm? Or replace Sigma 17-50mm with Pentax 20-40mm limited?

In either case I'd be giving up a bit of zoom range, but the intent would be an upgraded experience in terms of IQ, speed/reliability of focus in low light, etc.

Lenses I considered but decided against:

  • Sigma 18-300mm and Pentax 18-270mm. Neither of these are WR, and for an all-day default lens that's important to me.
  • D-FA 15-30mm. I'd love to have it, but just more than I want to spend.

If I say a budget of +/- $500, which of these changes would be most likely to give me that "gee I wish I'd done this 3 years ago" experience?
