Huh... they dropped support for AF-D and Ai-P "chipped" MF lenses in the D3500.

I confirmed that both these lens types now behave just like a regular, "unchipped" Ai lens: no metering, no rangefinder (other than the green dot), no A, S or P modes.

That kinda sucks. My Voigtlander 40/2 SLIIs, Nikkor 45/2.8P, all my AF-D lenses. They work ... but no metering.

It's written in the manual --

Metering and PASM modes are enabled in the D3300:

"other modes" and "metering" are checked for D AF Nikkor

But this is gone in the D3500:

"other modes" and "metering" are not checked for D-type lens
