Please upload the full size, unedited “out of camera” jpeg’s from your FZ80. Then maybe we can compare. Else it is just comparing apples and bananas.

Well, they would do no good, as I lower sharpness to -5..and NR to -5...and contrast to -1.

These would result in dull, flat images.

Not much different to shooting RAW with the sx70, then. Both will need post processing..

For me..it would be big difference, as I would have to convert the RAW file to DNG...then can use old version of PS elements to edit the RAWs....

Easy. No problem with newest Lightroom.

Don't have it.

Or if you want something free: Edit (and convert) with CanonDPP. Or convert to Tiff (or jpeg) with DPP and edit in the editor you want.

That works for Canon Only. No help to me, right now . But good to know ACR and Lightroom as well as DPP (of course) all support the SX70 already. Long wait for DXO, I'm sure.

Plus i can only shoot at 1699mm and 9MP, if using jpegs.

That's about the same as cropping in post. Cropping is (for the most) even better.

Actually...you get better exposure on subject and better AF, too.

Yes one can crop later, but for metering and AF...better in camera, IMHO. Especially for small subject far away. Exposure without the in camera crop won't be the same , often.

SX70 has ACR support already...but only good for current PS users.

or Lightroom .....

Yep.

I save lots of time shooting jpeg, and editing in simple FastStone.

I do that in Lightroom.

so you do edit your images. Ok.

But many also like DPP (free).

FastStone is free, too, as is Silkypix for Panasonic cameras. Too complicated for my small brain

Until i learn DXO PhotoLab..i will still be editing jpegs. RAW will take me much longer..so I avoid it.

Does not take longer with the right tools.

Depends on the person, IMHO. Once you can find them tools..where are they? lol.

Fully confused with DXO at the moment.

thanks
