  1. All things being equal would i should I expect photosites wiped off the screen looks fairly clear how can anyone tell if photosites or whatever came off and if it did can i surmise the only thing a store can do is recommend replacing the sensor by Sony how much would that cost lots of questions here only experts might know is the sensor so sensitive and unforgiving and seetup to be broken by using tissue or wtong cleaning method very easily ty if so they need to protect it better I'm talking manufacturers.the sensor can so easily be dirty and one must learn how to pay for and clean the rightway.there should be if so ,a way to tell if what u paid good money for is broken easily

There is a filter in front of the sensor. So if anything you may have scratched the filter if the tissue paper was dry. Shine a flashlight at the sensor and look at the reflection to see if you can see anything.

Normally a rocker blower is sufficient if you have good lens changing techniques.

Wet clean usually reserved for Nikon DSLRs and poor lens changing techniques or shooting in super nasty conditions.

There is glass in front of the sensor, it should be fine.

No it's just so many people talk about not touching sensor I have anxiety I ruined something or my photos will lose something.i find it hard to believe it's so easy to ruin sensor if u don't use exactly what stores want u to buy.if that s the case Sony should include some sensor cleaner and pads.ty for responding

As a lifetime user of vision glasses, I can say that using tissue paper to clean optics can and will cause very minor visible abrasions over time. Of course, this was daily cleaning, and the amount of force I used to clean dirty glasses was probably way more force than what you would apply to a freaking camera sensor, and a camera sensor doesn't need to be cleaned every day (2-3 times a year at most for a daily photographer).

I myself have no qualms about cleaning my own camera sensor. A good treatment with a rocket blower usually does the trick, but if need be, a very very (very) light stroke or two with a lens pen does the job.

... photos look the same ...
The same as what? Is there something wrong with the way they look?

If the photos look fine - and the sensor looks fine - I personally wouldn't worry about it at all.

No worries, the sensor is protected by a plastic screen.

Toilet paper may scratch this, but it is unlikely.

Get it professionally cleaned, or get a 'professional' cleanser.

Because it is plastic, best to use something mild. This is a good read:

What you see on your sensor right now may be streaks from the water drying up, and strands of the tp as well as sensor dust that did not come off.

You could start with a Q-tip, and work the areas - wet cleaning that is.

Water is fine to use, as long as you wipe it dry without streaks - most cleaning solutions dry up clear (no streaks), making it easier, and include solvents to soak the harder dust spots.

If the screen truly is damaged, you can replace just the screen (contact Kolari) or the entire sensor, for reasonable money. I expect that the screen is just fine.

Toilet paper is a wood product. It may feel soft, but does contain very small particles. Sooner or later, scratches are inevitable. Use lens tissue or microfiber cloth.

If the photos look OK, and you don't see any spots, lines, etc on them, then you are probably good, but a softer pad would be safer, and give you more peace of mind next time. A search will bring up MANY ways to clean your sensor; best is to start as gently as possible with just a blower, then work your way up to a pad with wet cleaning if needed.

Remember, the sensor is actually covered with a protective cover/filter, which is a fairly strong material, but it is still possible to damage it.
