In its favor, it improves upon the GX8 by losing the anti-alias filter

... Cameras that lack an anti-aliasing filter are absolutely useless for me. I run into those artifacts all the time, especially because of the inability to properly handle the detail from the fabrics of people's clothes.

...Omitting the anti-aliasing filter is one of the most idiotic things anyone can do in an analog to digital sampling product, and it's not even disputable, it's a plain fact.

Hello Adielle!

That is an unfair indictment, don't you think?

Not all camera/sensor minus AA filter systems are created equal. Some do a pretty good job of in-camera handling of the moire phenomenon.

Fabric is certainly a torture test, and last year I photographed some fabrics for a friend with my Sony camera with good results. I don't have those files, but I did a quick test earlier today:

No crop. Photographed close up.

Meanwhile, this anti-A thingy seems to have you a bit annoyed. Cure-all: it's a great time of year to photograph. I send you a few cheers!

First time photographing a juvenile Eastern Fox Squirrel. Normally they scoot away when humans approach, but this cute little critter stayed around for a few minutes.

Musician and his dog. Our local winter street festival.

1st Prize winner in a Southern California Mariachi competition

All the best for the holidays,
