You have a nice camera. Get a good lens, like the DA 16-85, and you'll never regret it, or have to wonder about improbable equipment working together.

Thanks Joe. I do like finding some of these older lenses and the only downside is my compatibility knowledge is a bit lacking, but no big deal since they are mostly inexpensive.

I looked up the DA 16-85 lens you mention and wow, reviews are excellent. Definitely one to keep a eye on at that would make a excellent travel lens and if needing more reach, my feet are still working.

A lot of users here have the DA 18-135. I've seen good images taken with it. If you are looking for an all-around travel lens, it might do the job. I like the 16-85 because I often use the widest focal length, and a zoom with a shorter range will give better image quality.

Old lenses can be fun to collect and use. But for serious use, get a good current lens and you won't have to worry about incompatibility.

I'm also taking a good look at the 18-135 as the focal length would be great for travel with more reach the the 85mm max on the other lens. I visit Puerto Vallarta every year and spend a 1/2 day on a friends boat there whale watching and thinking this would be the ticket for that and general travel use.

Here's one of my first pics of my Chihuahua rescue dog with the Super Takumar 135mm

She is such a little sweet dog and a welcome friend to my elderly Border Collie who is 14.
