Re: Two ways SA mount still works

Thanks for the help. I have enough info to decide that I will stay away from the SDQH. Not too excited about L mount either for future cameras.

The sdQ/H only work 100% with the latest Global Vision lenses.

Very few of the older lenses work 100% in auto focus mode.

Sigma remains committed to SA mount lenses, so it seems reasonable that at least the Global Vision series lenses in SA mount will be serviceable for some time to come, especially if a comparable product is available for the Canon R or EF mounts.

I wouldn't shelve the decision based upon projected lens serviceability.

Canon obsoletes their lenses too. The 400/500mm IS V1 big whites are obsolete, and now there is a 400mm f/2.8 IS V3 that replaces a not so old V2. A 600mm V3 is coming. Same goes for the 70-200 f/2.8 IS V3 that apparently has no difference (except color) from the V2.

The only safe lenses might be the 100% manual ones, and how many of those have an aperture ring on the lens?
