Not so! Perhaps u r confused by the fact that until (I believe) there last model, Nikon was using inferior 1" sensors (sort of like Canon:-).

I have owned several 1" sensor cameras, along w/ APSC. I'm on my 4th FF body.

While I generally prefer the m4/3 ones, i really don't see a whole lot of difference between the sony 1" sensors and ours. (<1stop) And i am hardly alone in this contention!

I never tried the RX100, so I won't know. From what I read my understanding is the Sone 1" sensor has seen huge R&D invest and these sensors are god as a result. I cannot help to ask...what would the M43 sensor be like when a one to one tech with the Sony 1" sensor?

The gap would widen by 1/3 of a stop. That is about what BSI, which mFT still ha snot got, gets you. It ain't much. But that is about the maximum advantage one can get basedon the comparison between Sony RX100 with and without BSI.

Does it make the 1" format better?

For someone with a need of interchangable lenses it is a no-go.

Not necessary. M43 and 1" Nikon 1 has the advantage both were build from ground up not like APS which was a compromise.....

Fuji APS-c mirrorless is not. The old APS-c was. Otherwise I am unsur ewhat you mean.
