Northern Lights in Layman's Terms

Hello,

First post, camera novice, lucky enough to own a X100T which I struggle to understand, and dont use often enough but occasionally take a not bad shot with.

Also lucky enough to be going to Finland on a Northern Lights trip very soon. Help! Will my X100T take good enough photos of the Northern Lights? Do I need to buy any additional lenses etc? I have a tele conversion lens 135/50mm 67mm, and a wide conversion lens 135/28mm 49mm, will one of these be good? Never quite been able to work out what they do? (I won all this kit in a very expensive raffle).

I have read through the other recent thread about Northern Lights but dont understand all the camera tech talk.  Can somebody please advise in very basic camera-thick terms what settings will be best for landscape night sky, hopefully capturing northern lights?

I have been doing some research and believe a tripod is advisable - any recommendations? (Light as will have to go in my luggage) I also have a hand grip MHG-X100 but never knew what this was for either - does it attach it to a tripod. Apologies for my photography ignorance...
