The best cameras of 2019 won't be FF...
4

We already saw this in 2018, with the Fuji XT-3 being one of the best cameras of the year, 2019 is already looking to be another big year for smaller sensor cameras. Two in particular. The Sony a7000, which is being described as an a9 in a slightly smaller body and with an APS-C sensor around $1500. Rumored to do 4K 60p and shoot 20fps (among other things), its going to blow away most FF cameras twice its price.

There is the upcoming MFT, Olympus OMD E-M1X that has some crazy rumored specs, like being the world's first camera to be able to shoot handheld high resolution photos at 80MP. Early reviews from testers are blown away by the sensor and the stabilization on the camera.

Then there are still rumors going around about Canon testing APS-C sensors in EOS R bodies and seriously thinking about making one for 2019. In fact, that may be where we see the their 5 axis IBIS system tested out, it would make sense to try it on a smaller sensor camera first. I think if they were to put out an APS-C version of the R for around $1200-$1500, it would become their biggest seller. They are going to need a mirrorless equivalent of the Rebel series sooner or later as that's been their bread and butter for the past decade or so.

The future is looking good...
