Multi-font titles in Resolve

On a more serious note, there are now Fusion Titles which are pre-built animated titles, and for the ones that have multi-lines, you can change the font face, size, and color per line.

After considerable time in Google, I found this solution for creating arbitrary multi-font titles (in Resolve 15.1, at least) from Andrew Neighbour:

  1. Use a Text+ title. You'll need to leave "Bypass Color Grades and Fusion Effects" off in the timeline viewer to see the text, because Text+ is a Fusion effect.
  2. Enter all of the desired text.
  3. Be sure that the Title+ clip is still selected in the timeline.
  4. Switch to the Fusion screen.
  5. In the Inspector, right-click the text entry area and select Character Level Styling.
  6. In the Inspector, select the Modifiers tab. You should now be in CharacterLevelStyling1 or 2 or 3 or whatever.
  7. In the Viewer, select the characters you want to style.
  8. Change the character styling in the Inspector.
  9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 as needed.
  10. Switch back to the Edit screen (if desired).

Although you can activate Character Level Styling in the Edit screen, you can't access the Modifiers tab so you can't actually style anything from there. I don't know what's up with that.

It's a bit roundabout, but it does get the job done.
