What are your wishes for the maybe upcoming Canon EOS M5 or M6 Mark II? (Just keeping them together, because they are very similar!)
I go first Here is just a list of unsorted thoughts:
- 4K especially without crop!
- higher frame rates for all video formats
- better low light Performance (especially for astrophotography)
- an ISO invariant sensor or at least a better noise performance
- higher and lower ISOs (50)
- better timelapse controls (longer timelapses, shorter intervals, etc.)
- internal programmable timer for mulitple shots
- adapter with a cirular polariser
- adapter with a variable ND-filter
- Adapter as a Speed Booster with a removable slot for either a circular polariser or ND-filter
- higher and lower shutter speeds
- a fix for the shutter synchronization problem (https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4320175)
- a function to zoom all the way in in order to check sharpness while focusing manually. (Should work with only the press of ONE button!) (Maybe a haven't found the feature!)
- Dual-Pixel RAW
- Sound indicators in live view, while recording or in the mode "video".
- Video RAW or similar
- True HDMI video output without live view HUD
- Live audio output
- Recharging with any USB-charger
- Batterie grip?
- USB C-Port
- USB 3.0 or 3.1 transfer protocol and speeds
- Higher WiFi speeds (maybe it's my phone)
- A lot more (maybe all features) remote controls through the Android / iPhone app
- Clip-In filters system? (Please look at the astronomik web-shop for references) (Just add some notches to firmly hold those filters in place
- Shutter closing while changing lenses! (It's a Feature for the EOS R, should be a software update away!) (Probably only applicable for automatic lenses)
- Faster SD-Card Transfer rates (maybe through a double SD-card slot?)
- More RAM for longer burst rate shooting
- Silent shutter with rolling shutter mitigation
- Focus bracketing or even just a series of focus shoots (all RAW) (with a lot of controls!)
- More time bracketing controls
- In-build LOG color Profile
- The ability to choose a lens profile for manual lenses, so they are stored in the metadata? (The data has to be manually put in the first time and can be selected the next time!)
- In-Body Image Stabilzation
Any other thoughts?
Just oneā¦. all the things you want will make it a 2500 dollar camera (at least)
I'd pay top dollar for an enthusiast level M body. Anything to keep from having to run two separate systems.
I could definitely live without SOME of these features though, but I'd love if it was competitive with the XT-3 spec wise.
