Re: I love my 100d. 100d and 24mm STM go to Rome

Thanks, glad you enjoyed them.

I don't do video but the SL2 / 200d has an STM lens for silent focus transitions or zooming and also IS.  Good start.  Decent Articulating touch  screen with dual pixel autofocus.  Also has a port for an external mic.  Apart from headphone port, pretty much everything for that price point.

In fact a friend of mine in the US wants a dslr for video at the $500 point and after an analyses of several cams at that budget, I recommended it as the best for that price.  Also the M50 but that has worse battery life, hence the 200d.

As for me now we're out of summer I am finding the 100d to be very lacking for low light at 6400, it really is not good in low light even with ambient street light etc.  I'll likely be going back to the FujiFilm x-100 T which has super clean ISO 6400 and I have files where I've looked at the exif and was happily shooting at 6400 with F5.6 and at 1/250 with it,

The 100d had nasty looking ISO 6400 and I only use it when I have to be at F2.8 and 1/125.

Canon crop just ain't that good for low light and the AF is not great in low light either.

I've owned 3 APSC cameras, Nikon D5300, Canon 100d and the Fuji X-100 T.  The Nikon has great low light but not the lenses I want.  The Canon has the lenses but not good at low light IQ and AF.  The Fuji has my fave 35mm FOV and the WCL for 28mm at £149 so I'll be trading in.

Just some food for thought if you shoot low light street like I also do.
