When shooting an interview

So I shoot video with a 5d mark iv and I am curious.

When shooting a interview at 24fps, do I have to have the shutter at 1/50th or is it okay to go with a slower shutter speed as long as its not below 24?

I know when videoing something in Motion the rule is to double the FPS to get a natural look but with a interview where the subject is sitting still I wonder if I can have a slower shutter speed to save my self from raising the ISO to get enough light.
