Re: Panasonic Quality question

I bought the LX-100 when it first came out for its lens, sensor and manual controls for still photography. I have not been disappointed in the least.

Reports of its vulnerability to dust came out soon after its introduction, so I immediately stopped carrying it in a filty pocket and have had no problems with any dust on the sensor. When it's not in use it is always covered.

Sure, Panasonic could have made the camera "dust proof" just as they could have made it water proof -- at considerable extra cost, and then no one would buy it.

I had to learn on my own not to treat a thousand-dollar camera like I would a $100 phone. The company could -- and should -- have warned owners, just to avoid the problem and bad reviews.

The camera itself is great, even with its vulnerability.
