For the love of manual focus
2

I am an old guy who started with a Ricoh rangefinder in the late 1950s.  I am also partly color blind which made peak focusing a hit and miss operation.

I tried several old lenses (Nikon and Pentax) but did not like the increased bulk of the adapter. I bought several Chinese native mount manual lenses and was surprised at the image quality on those rare occasions when I nailed it.  The IQ was not spectacular but did remind me of lenses built in the 50s and 60s.  However focusing was very iffy.

I then discovered that B+W taken with red peaking is the easiest and most accurate way to capture well focused images.  There is an additional advantage.  The Chinese lenses are not perfect for color but just fine for B+W.

Using my old XE2 with these lenses shooting B+W is just plain fun.
